چکیده

Intelligent reflecting surfaces (IRSs) have been attracting attention as a solution to coverage hole problems in millimeter-wave communication areas. They are considered be one of the key technologies next-generation mobile systems. Since polarized multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) is utilized systems deliver high-speed data transmission, an IRS also required applied for MIMO and reflect signals wide angle range. To realize MIMO, signal each polarization same direction with high isolation. In addition, control reflection phase over recent research, many proposals related development IRSs proposed. However, since configuration conventional diodes controls characteristics by controlling electric length or shape element, it becomes asymmetrical difficult apply MIMO. solve this problem, paper, we propose new design dual-polarized liquid-crystal-based 28 GHz proposed thickness substrate, can without changing element. By optimizing achieve 260 degrees both vertical horizontal polarizations. The range ±60 isolation more than 20 dB. main contributions paper 1) proposal liquid crystal MIMO; 2) method liquid-crystal using unit cell analysis; 3) verification through electromagnetic field 4) IRS; 5) experimental anechoic chamber, 6) derivation channel capacity IRS.

Performance Analysis of cooperative SWIPT System: Intelligent Reflecting Surface versus Decode-and-Forward

In this paper, we explore the impacts of utilizing intelligent reflecting surfaces (IRS) in a power-splitting based simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (PS-SWIPT) system and compare its performance with the traditional decode and forward relaying system. To analyze a more practical system, it is also assumed that the receiving nodes are subject to decoding cost, and they are on...

Computer simulation of liquid-crystal surface modification

– Metropolis Monte Carlo simulations are used to study the interplay between two different anchoring effects of spherocylinders on a modified surface consisting of hard walls onto which liquid-crystal molecules have been perpendicularly grafted. By varying both the length and grafting density of the surface molecules, a number of different and novel anchoring regimes are observed including: pla...

Surface Dipole Control of Liquid Crystal Alignment.

Detailed understanding and control of the intermolecular forces that govern molecular assembly are necessary to engineer structure and function at the nanoscale. Liquid crystal (LC) assembly is exceptionally sensitive to surface properties, capable of transducing nanoscale intermolecular interactions into a macroscopic optical readout. Self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) modify surface interaction...

A 3D Optical Surface Profilometer Using a Dual-Frequency Liquid Crystal-Based Dynamic Fringe Pattern Generator

We propose a liquid crystal (LC)-based 3D optical surface profilometer that can utilize multiple fringe patterns to extract an enhanced 3D surface depth profile. To avoid the optical phase ambiguity and enhance the 3D depth extraction, 16 interference patterns were generated by the LC-based dynamic fringe pattern generator (DFPG) using four-step phase shifting and four-step spatial frequency va...
